Life In A Round House By A Salt Marsh

Thank you for visiting our Internet site. These pictures show what it looks like around here. We live in the woods at the north end of Lady's Island near Beaufort, SC. The picture on the left shows our house from the marsh at high tide (you can barely see the roof above the trees). The middle one shows the steps leading up to the front door and right picture is our dirt road (Quiet Cove Way).

Our Logo: We see a lot of mossy live oak trees around our area. The wood from these trees was sought by early ship builders because it was so strong. A large live oak nearby was blown over in a hurricane back in the fifties. It did not give up and die, instead, a limb became the trunk of a new tree. It gets enough water and nutrients through the roots still in the ground to keep it alive. When hard times blow us over, let's take a lesson from the live oak. I made the mossy oak our logo in the top left corner of these web pages. It is a symbol that reminds me of strength and determination. The emphasis of our site is on family activities and bible study.
